Key and Peele have the world at their fingertips. The duo have been prepping for the fourth season of their show on Comedy Central. One would think no matter how busy you are you can make time for a special request from Barack Obama, but Key and Peele even turned down the president to work on their show.
The opportunity came when the commander-in-chief got Obamacare passed and wanted to spread the word on the Affordable Care Act. The President reached out to Key and Peele to create a sketch on the Act but they had to turn Obama down. “We had to turn him down. We were making the season. We literally couldn’t fit it in to our schedules. So we actually had to relieve the president of his duties,” said the comedians. “We couldn’t help him out on that one particular time. But this is a country where we technically have status over our elected officials. So you gotta remember, Obama works for us.”
While the President didn’t get Key and Peele, he was still able to nab Zach Galifianakis for an episode of Between The Ferns. Many consider this episode one of the best in the history of the show. Catch the Galifianakis-Obama interview below:
